Beaches Galore

  • If you like action, then Nissi beach in nearby Ayia Napa is your best bet. Here you will find young crowds, beach bars, beachside cafes serving up British breakfasts and music to get you in the mood for the nights ahead


  • Alternatively, if you want to spend time on the beach to relax then you could do a lot worse than Protaras or Phinikoudes beach


Historical Larnaca


  • Take a trip to Ayios Lazarus, which is where St Lazarus’s tomb can be found within the 9th century church. Peace and tranquillity await


  • Ancient Kiteon is home to many historical sites including temples and architects which can be viewed in the local museum. Some of these date back over 3000 years so the history on show here really is impressive


  • Larnaca castle draws the crowds, attracted by its views across the town and its own private beach. There is also a small museum inside which helps to explain the castle’s place in the history of Cyprus


Family Fun


  • Larnaca is a great location for families. One popular attraction is the Camel Park which allows kids to take camel rides throughout the local area


  • For families worried about feeding the kids – do not worry. Larnaca is a culinary centre which offers every type of cuisine you could think of, including favourites such as burgers and pizzas which will get you out of a hole at least once guaranteed!


  • Finikoudes is the main beach here and has plenty of family friendly facilities. The sea is calm here to so it is a safe beach for kids to explore

  • Take a stroll through the Turkish quarter of town. Here you will be able to pick up some bargains and explore the local markets


  • The Byzantine Museum at the Church of AgiosLazaros is the pick the many museums in the region and definitely worth a visit


  • Larnaca is just as well known for its food as it is for its beaches and nightlife. Perhaps unsurprisingly seafood is its signature cuisine and there are plenty of fish restaurants on the water’s edge waiting to entice you in
