Hotels in Prague – Architectural heaven

Our friend Jeff has just moved to Prague. Good luck Jeff! Choose hotels in Prague for fun, sports, entertainment and a really vivid nightlife. This is an exquisite city, full of wonderful ancient architecture side by side with stylish contemporary buildings. The old town’s streets are cobbled and twisty-turny, home to delicious local food and international shopping, bars and excellent coffee houses. Smaller hotels in Prague include the lovely Prague Castle Hotel, a cosy place in the Lesser Town. Enjoy panoramic views of Prague Castle, about 100m away, or catch a local metro to Old Town and the city centre.

Prague Hotels – Wimmin and booze, booze and wimmin

If you’re male and heterosexual, the ladies in Prague will knock you for six. Apparently, the city is famed for beautiful women. We have no idea what the men look like. Nobody mentions them so we imagine they’re all either utterly terrifying or Johnny Depp look-alikes. Your guess is as good as ours. Prague is also famous for beer, one of the UK’s favourite pastimes. Pick hotels in Prague centre for lively nightlife and bucket loads of friendly drinking places. The Hotel Musketýr is in the middle of the city a few steps from Wenceslas Square and everything else. Like many hotels in Prague’s old town this is close to the castle, lit up at night to spectacular effect. Insist on a balcony room and soak it up!

Hotels in Prague – A flavour of Eastern Europe

The Czech Republic is catching up, becoming less exotic and foreign-seeming as time passes. It is getting pretty westernised and hotels in Prague reflect the changes, but you still get a keen hint of original Eastern European culture. The good thing is that loads of the locals speak immaculate English. Helpful but a bit embarrassing for language-challenged people who studied French for ten years but can only remember the French for ‘The hedgehog is fast. Lamentable, really. As far as hotels in Prague go, this is a goodie. The Hotel Ambassador Zlata Husa is in Wenceslas Square, within walking distance of shopping and offering an astonishing four in-hotel restaurants, a casino, night club and Thai Wellness Club. Oh yes, and a limo service in case you suffer an unexpected celebrity moments and can’t resist.

Flights to Prague – Biggest city in the Czech Republic

Prague, or ‘Praha’ in Czech, is the Czech Republic’s biggest city and capital. On the banks of the Vltava River it is overlooked by austere Prague Castle, built eleven hundred years ago and once home to the country’s Bohemian royal families. Flights to Prague deposit you in a wonderland of eastern European history; from Old Town Square’s ancient 1300s Town Hall to the city’s famous Astronomical Clock. Prague airport, AKA Ruzyne Prague Airport, is a modern and spacious international airport to the north west of Prague, 11 miles or so from the city centre. This is Prague’s only international airport so whichever flights to Prague you choose, that’s where you’ll end up.

Prague Flights – Christmas Carols brought to life

It’ll only take you half an hour or so to drive to the city centre from Prague airport, fifty minutes or so if you use public transport. Once you’re there you’ll feel right at home. Flights to Prague are popular with hen and stag parties and the Czech people are always up for a party. Like the Brits, they enjoy their drink and the city’s bars and pubs are both friendly and oddly familiar. Prague flights are low cost and good value - and you can fly in from all over the UK. Hit St. Wenceslas Square, wonder why he last looked out, as in the Christmas carol, and then head for a nice, warm bar.

Flights to Prague – Cafes, bars, history and mystery

Prague airport is full of friendly cafes and decent bars, mostly between piers A and B in the North Terminal. Head for immigration and you’ll be going in the right direction. There’s also a good restaurant in Terminal 2. Flights to Prague are popular for city breaks as well as longer holidays. It is a good place to start off on an adventure, sampling the country’s myriad water sports and rough ‘n’ rugged outdoor stuff. Prague airport staff all speak fluent English and German, which is handy because Czech’s a bit of a challenge to get to grips with. They’ll even give you a free city map when you arrive, nice people.
