Flights to Paris – Home of the romantic weekend
Flights to Paris? Flights of fancy! The Eiffel Tower is only one of Paris’s many architectural masterpieces, probably France’s most famous phallic symbol. Built for the 1889 International Paris Exhibition, it took a whole load of workmen two years to build it. It remained the world’s highest building for just over 40 years until 1930. Flights to Paris land you in this ultimate city of romance. Paris Charles De Gaulle airport is 14 miles from the city centre just outside the village of Roissy-en-France. This is Paris’s biggest airport, a two terminal monster. It’s easy to get to and from the city centre; hit the A1 at Porte de la Chapelle and take exit 6 – there’s excellent signposting. Travel time? Allow an hour to be on the safe side.
Paris Flights – Perfect city breaks
Paris is an enormously popular international tourist destination, visited by an astonishing number of people each year. Flights to Paris are packed with vast pilgrimages of people visiting Disneyland Paris every year... 13 million of ‘em. Those big mice are scary enough in English, never mind French, so we’d rather steer clear. Five and a half million folk clamber their way breathlessly up the Eiffel Tower (we’ve never been but we’re sure there must be a lift too) and another five million traipse around the Louvre. In comparison, a mere 3.5 million sample Versailles Palace each year. Blimey. Paris-Orly is the city’s second airport, easy to find if you follow the signposts; the A6, A6a and A6b and A106. Depending on how dire the traffic is, it should take you between half an hour and 45 minutes.
Flights to Paris – Museum addicts and culture vultures
Flights to Paris are perfect for dyed in the wool museum addicts. Paris is home to a massive 70+ museums, galleries, monuments and cultural attractions. Wherever you look there’s something you’ve heard of or seen in a film. Or learned about at school then forgotten. Some of the world’s finest artwork is housed here and you’d need weeks and weeks to do it proper justice. Some people take flights to Paris for culture, others for romance and still others for the food. This is a gourmet’s paradise. We like to imagine the original inhabitants, back in 4200BC, arguing about which piquant drizzle went best with their Bison steak, or whatever.
