Built in 1914, this hotel offers a total of 131 rooms spread over 6 floors, of which 126 are double rooms and 5 are apartments/studios. The 24-hour reception has a safe where guests may deposit any valuables. The hotel also has lifts, a cloakroom, a café and various shops. The air-conditioned à la carte restaurant caters for guests' every culinary desire. Business guests may make use of the conference room and the Internet terminal room and laundry services are available. The hotel also has a car park.
Location
The hotel is wonderfully located in the heart of the city of Budapest, within walking distance of the main shopping area, on the Pest side of Danube.
Rooms
The rooms vary greatly in size and decor. Most of the rooms are medium sized, however the high ceilings make the rooms appear a lot larger. They are in a fair condition and decorated in a traditional fashion, to add to the faded charm and elegance of this property, suggesting a hint of its former glory. Bathrooms could benefit from some modernisation.
Restaurant
It is situated on the ground floor, but slightly raised from the coffee shop and reception.
Exterior
The traditional and ornate exterior of the building dates back eighty years and makes the hotel one of the oldest establishments in Budapest.
Lobby
The lobby is medium in size and has retained a number of original features, to give it a truly old style feel with a dark green velvet upholstery and antique furniture. Although the lobby is not very spacious, there is a large and well known bar leading on from the reception which is open to hotel guests and locals.
