The hotel is very elegant and is in a good location. It is suitable for both leisure and business clients. A 19 million dollar renovation was completed in 2001. Exceptional value.
Location
The hotel is located near the center of the city in one of Washington's most elegant neighborhoods. It overlooks 11 scenic acres of hiking, biking and horse-riding trails in Rock Creek Park. The national zoo of Washington DC is also within walking distance.
Rooms
Guest rooms are spacious and formal in decor. All of the furnishings are truly upscale. Hotel underwent a 84 million dollar restoration completed in 2001.
Restaurant
The restaurant is located off the grand foyer where an imperial staircase leads to a stunning dining room drenched with natural light. Beautiful floral arrangements and ferns adorn this formal salon, with it's ivory colored walls and lead glass mirrors and French doors. Seasonal outdoor dining is served on the terrace that overlooks an elegant courtyard reminiscent of celebrated European palaces.The menu is varied, but they are known for their fabulous crab cakes. The renowned Marquee Bar and Lounge serves cocktails in an intimate atmosphere, rich with plush leather seating, dark wood paneling and extravagant draperies that swag around louvered windows.
