Hotels in Marmaris – Jewel of the Turkish Riviera
Marmaris is known by locals as the jewel of the Turkish Riviera and they ain’t wrong. Wow, this is a sophisticated resort, right where the Aegean Sea meets the Med and on a beautiful sandy bay. Hotels in Marmaris give you an insight into the life of the super-rich. Yachting types everywhere, flocks of massive millionaire-style motorboats and cosmopolitan folk looking extremely cosmopolitan all over the place. How do they get to look like that?! But it isn’t all mega posh. Hotels in Marmaris come with two stars as well as five. The 2 star Karadeniz Hotel is on the seafront, a friendly family-owned place with just under 60 rooms, a private golden beach and free sunbeds.
Marmaris Hotels – Greek for ‘shiny’
Marmaris comes from the Greek word for ‘shiny’ and you’ll find many hotels in Marmaris are glitzy and glittery. But you’ll also be able to hunt down good value guest houses and B&Bs alongside the five star monsters. Hotels in Marmaris with three stars include the Anemon Hotel, a traditionally styled building that has been carefully furnished to give an authentic Turkish tone. As hotels in Marmaris go their breakfasts are legendary, served in a delightful restaurant overlooking the garden and swimming pool. The hotel boasts ‘French’ beds… we’re not sure why French beds are so enormously desirable. If you stay there, let us know.
Hotels in Marmaris – Focus on the beach!
Most hotels in Marmaris are beach focused although the beaches are a bit odd, made of slightly gritty black volcanic sand. Then again it gets into your trunks and bikini bottoms just as effectively as golden and white sand does, so what’s the problem? It is a bit like being in a photographic negative, though, especially after a late night. The 5 star Hotel Aqua is well located on Icmeler Beach, like many Marmaris hotels a short stroll from the beach. Hotels in Marmaris almost all have a private pool and this is no exception; there’s an outdoor and indoor pool plus safe swimming pools for the kids. Sun terraces, a couple of restaurants, four good bars, Turkish bath and massage, blah blah… all in all, it’s extremely well equipped and there’s masses to do on site.

Marmaris
Marmaris Holidays All Inclusive - Clear Blue Seas
This area is famous for its golden beaches and crystal blue waters. It has one of the largest natural harbours in the world, which makes it popular with the international yachting community. Its a great place for fishing trips too. Most attractions are based around the harbour, and its not far to the town centre. This is a lively resort with a buzzing market and excellent nightlife scene. There's plenty of great bars and nightclubs to choose from. The scenery is great too, as a beautiful mountain range overlooks the resort. There's a wide range of accommodation options in Marmaris, but the best hotels can be found in nearby Icmeler.
All Inclusive Marmaris Holidays - Great Attractions
There is plenty to do in Marmaris, which makes it a great place for families. Why not check out the Atlantis Water Park, which has a great mixture of relaxing shows and thrill seeking rides. There's also lovely boat trips along the Turquoise Coast. On these you can snorkel and learn how to dive near deserted islands. You can also take moonlit boat trips, and visit the famous phosphorus caves. There's also daytime excursions into the mountains and a range of of offroad activitites. These include jeep facilities and quad biking. Marmaris beach can get a little overcrowded during peak season, so we recommend travelling a few miles to Cleopatra Island. This has beautiful white sands, and is renowned as one of the best beaches you can go to on your Turkey holidays. Nearby Icmeler beach is great for watersports too.
Cheap Marmaris Holidays - Check out the Bazaar
The markets are undoubtedly one of Turkey's main attractions. The market here is great for souvenir items such as Jewellery, Leather goods and Carpets. Its easy to haggle and find great bargains, but some traders can be overly persistent. Although Marmaris is a child friendly place, be careful with the kids when your out shopping. Some can feel overwhelmed by the hussle and bussle of the market place. All in all though, Marmaris holidays are a great choice for families.
Flights to Marmaris – Hit the turquoise coast
Most people choose flights to Marmaris becaue it is right on the gorgeous Turquoise Coast. You can guess why it’s called that – the seas there are a breathtaking colour, straight out of a holiday brochure’s glossy pages but totally for real. What creates this spectacular colour? Marmaris sits where the Aegean Sea meets the Med. Something about that magic mix makes the water more turquoise than a turquoise thing from a very turquoise place. Flights to Marmaris give you all this and good value as well. The resort’s well known and loved for low cost holidays and there’s accommodation to suit even the weeniest budget. You’ll fly into Dalaman International Airport, whose terminal has charmingly just won an award for being one of the fifteen ‘most beautiful’ terminals in the world.
Marmaris Flights – Ninety minute transfer from Dalaman
There are no direct flights to Marmaris and the transfer time between Dalaman and the resort is about ninety minutes. As a result there’s a roaring trade in specialist independent transfers. If you’re booking a package holiday to Marmaris your transfers will probably be included. If not, book a cab in advance and agree a price up front. Flights to Marmaris drop you in a convenient location for exploring Greece, Rhodes being only half an hour away by ferry. And cruise ships drop off at the resort too, making it extremely busy at peak season. There are loads of traditional and pretty villages to explore inland too so, if you fancy a break from the sun, there’s more to do than passively appreciate the wonderful sun, sea and sand.
Flights to Marmaris – Water Parks, turtles and bowling
Kids love the Atlantic Water Park at Marmaris, a massive place packed with mad slides, crazy rides and… bowling. Dry land bowling, nothing to do with water at all. Bizarre. But perfect, we suppose, for bowlplex-starved Brits with restless children. Flights to Marmaris let you explore the beautiful two mile long Iztuzu beach sandbar in Dalyan, a haven for protected loggerhead turtles. While you’re there, take a look at the ancient ruined harbour town of Kaunos complete with mud baths. Food? When in Marmaris do Mezes, the Turkish version of Tapas. Lots of delicious little mouthfulls of different local foods. Yum.
