Kusadasi Holidays  -  A Wonderful Resort

Kusadasi is so near to Ephesus that when Ephesus harbour silted up, it became known as New Ephesus.  The main beach here is only small, but there are plenty of ‘beach clubs’ where you pay a small fee to use the facilities. Kusadasi has become one of the most popular seaside locations in Turkey. Cheap All Inclusive Kusadasi holidays are available throughout the year. The ancient ruins of the fortress hail from the 15th century and the Ottomans (no, not a footstool, Ottoman is an important Turkish dynasty). The Barlar Sokak is where the restaurants and entertainment are. Yes, there are ‘British pubs’ here, but don’t let that put you off.

Cheap Kusadasi Holidays -  Plenty of Attractions

The main beach in Kusadasi is quite small and often overcrowded.  However, some excellent beaches can be found close to the resort.  Kadinlar Beach, Green Beach and Long Beach all offer far more pleasant alternatives.  Many watersports can be found here, including Snorkelling and Scuba Diving.  The "Blue Cruise" also departs from Kusadasi, and this is one of the most popular excursions on Turkey holidays.  The resort also has plenty of lively nightlife, with Ecstacy bar being the most popular nightclub.  The resort is famous for it's shopping too. The Old Town's Grand Bazaar has more than 1,000 Turkish stalls offering every product imaginable.

Holidays in Kusadasi -  Historical Attractions

There are the ruins of a Byzantine castle (don’t forget, Byzantine means: the art and style of the Eastern Roman Empire from about AD 330 to about 1450) on an island known as Pigeon Island just off the coast, and famous for visiting bird life. Kusadasi is very close to Espephus, where some of the region's best historical attractions can be found.  Day trip ferries go to Greece and parts of Italy too, but there’s plenty to explore locally, so don’t be disappearing just yet. Kusadasi holidays is an excellent destination to combine history and relaxation.
Kusadasi Flights -  Plenty of Choice

Many different airlines fly to Turkey from the UK.  These include budget airlines such as Easyjet, and more tradititional airlines such as British Airways.  Several Turkish airlines also fly this route.  We recommend booking early to find the best prices.  The flights take around 4 hours, and Turkish time is 2 hours ahead of the UK.  There are several international airports in Turkey, and its usually a short transfer to popular resorts.

Flights to Kusadasi -  Airport Transfers

Icmeler is about 77km away from Izmir International Airport.  This means a short drive when you arrive.  We can arrange cheap return coach transfers to your hotel, or you can take your own private taxi when you get there.  We can also arrange low cost car hire.

The Temple of Apollo at Didyma - Attractions in Kusadasi

This was an ancient Ionian site of some importance (For Ionian, think ancient Greek architecture, all fluted columns). The earliest level of the temple found so far dates to the end of the 8th century BC, so it’s pretty damn old. There was a natural spring here where the Leto ‘met’ Zeus, they had a kiss (maybe more) and she soon gave birth to the Artemis and Apollo. A home birth too, which is not normally advisable with twins, but excepxions are made for Greek Gods. Apparently. The Temple of Apollo at Didyma is also of Alexander the Great significance. Alexander the Great changed the world thanks to his many conquests, by which we mean battles he won, not successful dates he went on.

The Roman ruins at Ephesus - Kusadasi Attractions

Ephesus is often referred to as the starting point of western civilization and occidental thinking (occidental thinking means the quest for the most primordial aspects of reality. We don’t know what that means). There’s a lovely modern town to explore here and a wander up the hill to the fort and you’ve got the tomb of St. John the Bapxist, not to mention a stunning view of the coast leading to the Aegean. You can take a pony and cart ride to the back entrance of the Ephesus site itself. Excavations of Ephesus began in 1863 and are still going on.

There’s an excavated two mile route through the Greek and Roman ruins where you follow the original roads. There are several centuries worth of sites to take in here. Allow a full day and consider collaring an experienced guide, but if you book an organised tour you might miss out on a few things, such as the House of the Virgin Mary and the Caves of the Seven Sleepers, which has nothing to do with railways.

Fly to Turkey and land at Izmir airport. The flight is about four hours and you’ll find yourself just 46 miles from Kusadasi. There are even regular ferry services from Kusadasi to Venice.
