Getting to Spain – One of Europe's best for low cost flights!

Getting to Spain is easier than ever, with low cost flight operators falling over themselves to take millions of us there every year on holiday. Most people fly in and there's been a proliferation of new airports and new providers in the past decade. Getting to Spain is a simple matter with cheap flights to Spain from almost every UK regional airport, even the really tiny ones.

Spanish Directions – Get to Spain with minimum pain!

Even if getting to Spain isn't the adventure it used to be, it can still be enormous fun. If you're the adventurous type and have time to spare, you might enjoy driving to Spain. Speed through the Euro tunnel into France and down through Europe. The temperature warms perceptibly as you travel south and the journey lets you immerse yourself in new cultures all the way down. And endure endless dreadful motorway services along the way, the same all over Europe, probably the world!

Getting to Spain – Road, rail, ferry and... motorbike?

Europe's rail services provide excellent ways for getting to Spain. If you never travel by rail in the UK, you'll probably have the impression that it's an appalling way to travel. Regular rail users know better. Our railways are efficient, fast and comfy these days and they almost always run on time. Weird but true. On the continent they take on a different personality; sleek, spotless and faster than a fast thing. Motorbikers love getting to Spain by bike, taking the Portsmouth ferry to Santander and tackling the Pyrenees passes down into the stunning northern Spanish plains.

Can't find your way to Spain? Never mind. Book your Spanish holiday here anyway!

Events in Spain – Music, romance, fiestas and bullfighting

Events in Spain are many and varied. Everything from bullfighting, an utterly brutal celebration of the Spanish male macho ideal, to passionate flamenco festivals. Madder events in Spain include the insane but hilarious tomato battle. Yes, a tomato battle. On the last Wednesday in August, the town of Buñol engages in the crazy La Tomatina . Within minutes, hundreds of participants are absolutely covered in tomato. Don't wear your best clothes. Naked would be best, but you're not allowed!

Spain Events – Events in Spain for all tastes and budgets

Choose events in Spain then book your Spanish holiday around them. It's a great way to decide on a destination, since there's so many great places to choose from. Seville, for instance, hosts a huge range of concerts every year in the city's old citadel. Breathtaking stuff, and a great place from which to explore rural Spain. Events in Spain come in all flavours and they love to party. Wherever you stay, you'll discover endless fiestas, fun and games.

Events in Spain – From Classical Music to Wild, Mad Bull Runs

One of the most famous and silliest events in Spain has to be the deadly Pamplona Bull Run. The history of the run probably dates back to the 13th century. And you'll find bull running in several other Spanish locations too... they do like to torment their fellow creatures. Events in Spain always involve fiestas. Loads of fiestas, at the drop of a hat, any excuse. My bull, he has died. Let's fiesta. That stone statue, she is bleeding... let's have a fiesta. I'm a bit bored... let's have a fiesta. After all that fiesta-ing you'll appreciate a good siesta, that's all we can say.

Weather in Spain – Drier than the UK, so that'll do nicely!

As you'd expect the weather in Spain is much better than it is here in the UK. They have more of a climate there than actual weather. As general rule the weather in Spain behaves itself much better than it does here. Our mongrel geology and crazy sea-surrounded position put us in the path of every cyclone and anti-cyclone out there, spinning the UK's weather out of control on a more or less permanent basis. But the weather in Spain does what it says on the tin, exactly when it says it'll do it. We like that!

Spanish Weather – The Canaries to Mainland Spain

Although it's generally really nice, the Spanish weather isn't 100% set in its ways. You don't get the same old stuff all over the country. The Pyrenees, in the north of Spain, are covered with snow in the winter. Many of the region's high altitude passes are closed to traffic right through until May. The weather in Spain covers everything from scorching, arid summers in the central plains and plateaus to some of the coldest, most miserable mountain weather in Europe.

Weather in Spain – Stating the Obvious...

Let's state the obvious. The further south you go, the better the weather in Spain is. Spanish weather in summer is almost always lovely when over here we're in t-shirts one day, woolly jumpers the next. Even the northern Spanish weather knocks our miserable efforts at summer into the proverbial cocked hat. People flock to the Costa Brava during spring and autumn for walking holidays along the coast. Travellers in search of a mellow winter holiday flood the coast's resorts. Christmas in Spain, the Canaries and Balearic Islands are popular sun drenched options. Hit the southern coast of Spain and you're practically in Africa, with temperatures to match. You name it, the weather in Spain has got it
