Flights to Maui – 730 square miles of eye candy
Maui is Hawaii’s second biggest Island, almost fifty miles long and twenty six wide. Like all the Hawaiian islands Maui has a nickname, The Valley Isle. No surprise, then, that it is made up of a series of dramatically beautiful valleys. Flights to Maui land you at Kahului airport in the island’s central valley. There’s a smaller airport at Kapalua and an inter-island commuter airport at Hana, in the east. You’ll take flights to Maui for all of the island’s main resorts; Kaanapali, Kapalua, Makena, Wailea, Hana, Kihei, Maalaea, Napili and Honokowai. For shopping and a taste of civilisation, head for Maui’s three biggest towns, pretty Kahului, lovely Wailuku and delightful Lahaina.
Maui Flights – Splurge on a helicopter
Kahului Airport is in the north of the island, just three miles or so from Kahului village. Choose flights to Kahului and you’ll have a great choice of pre-arranged tours and adventures, most of which you’ll find out about at the airport. Car rental is good value, recommended for exploring the whole of the island. You can hire a helicopter flight if you’ve got a few quid spare and see Hawaii from the air – a breathtaking sight. Plenty of companies offer really good guided tours and days out exploring the scenery. Kahului is a simple but well equipped airport, a pleasure to use. The best thing? Flights to Maui deposit you on an island with more miles of accessible, safe beaches than the rest of Hawaii.
Flights to Maui – 120 miles of gorgeous tropical coastline
Eighty one beaches, almost half of which have good facilities like loos and showers. A choice of coloured sands from purest tropical white to deepest black basalt. Olivine, citrine or peridot-green beaches. And scarlet beaches – really! – made up of powdered garnet. How cool is that? Flights to Maui deliver you into a wonderland of beautiful state parks, ten in all, and almost a hundred country parks. Plus a whopper of a national park, Haleakala. The dormant Haleakala Volcano is the island’s highest at over 10,000 feet, with immense views of the hump backed whales playing in the bays far below. Wow. And wow again.
