Rhodes Holidays

The biggest of the Greek Islands, Rhodes is also the most visited. Steeped in history, Rhodes is a destination that can be tailored to any need. The tranquillity of Anthony Quinn Bay is contrasted by the bustle of nearby Faliraki, while the popular archaeological beachside town of Lindos complements the historic Medieval City of Rhodes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This variety is what makes cheap Rhodes holidays popular with tourists looking to mix it up, though the specific destinations offer everything you would want within their vicinities. The year-round mild climate means that there isn’t really a bad time to visit Rhodes, though some of the towns are in closedown between mid-October and early-April. Cheap Greece holidays are all about culture, scenery, nightlife, beaches and sunshine; Rhodes is all that and more.

Beat the Brochure’s Top 5 recommendations

  • Tsambika Beach

Almost halfway down the main road linking Rhodes Town and Lindos is Tsambika Beach, the best beach on the island. There is almost nothing around as you follow winding, mountain goat-housing roads to the luscious sands of Tsambika Beach. The monastery hovering 300 steps over the beach offers some activity and improves the fertility of hikers, or so the legend goes. With exquisite sands as far as the eye can see, inviting crystal clear sea waters and glorious azure skies; Tsambika is a beach that’s as perfect as they get.

  • Rhodes Old Town

At the northernmost point of the island lies the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the medieval Rhodes Old Town. The citadel is almost exactly as it was in the Byzantine era, except the winding alleys now containing shops selling everything you could possibly think of. There are bars and restaurants open day and night, making the Old Town a great place to have an evening meal and outing, while the sights of the site during the day are truly exceptional.

  • Faliraki’s Nightlife

Regarded as one of the top party spots on all inclusive Greece holidays, Faliraki is the beachside resort with enough bars, clubs, pubs and discos to last you a lifetime. Ermou Street, Faliraki nightlife’s focal point, is where most of the action happens. Known simply as Bar Street, there are countless options for revellers, meaning that staff will attempt to outdo each other to get you into their establishment by offering you the best drink deals they can. So long as you’re responsible and well-behaved, you’ll have a night out to remember in Faliraki.

  • Village of Lindos

The whitewashed mountainside village of Lindos is truly a magnificent spectacle. The streets are narrow and contain what can only be described as sugar cube houses amongst gift shops, tavernas and bars. There is a steep climb to the top of the village, where the Acropolis is located, so visiting Lindos isn’t recommended for those with walking difficulties. No matter where you stop in Lindos, you’ll have a wonderful scenic view, from a town unlike any other.

  • WaterPark

Located in Faliraki, WaterPark is Rhodes’ first and Europe’s biggest water park. There are plenty of attractions and, in keeping with the surrounding area, a very relaxed atmosphere. The slides and lazy river are popular amongst visitors but it’s WaterPark’s party pool, complete with wave machine, that’s a must experience. For an active, fun-filled day away from the beach, before heading back to your hotel to prepare for a night out or a meal in the hotel on your Greece family holidays, WaterPark is an ideal way to spend it.
