Useful Information

Kos is the third biggest island of the Dodecanese islands of Greece, it is situated in the southeastern part of the Aegean Sea. Kos is well known as the birthplace of Hippocrates, “The Father of Medicine”. Because of the rich and varied history of Kos, there are monuments and places of interest from a whole range of historical periods starting from the Mycenean and reaching into the more recent times. Of course being a Greek island, there are also lots of golden sandy beaches looking out over beautiful blue sea. There are many outdoor activities such as bike riding, horse riding, diving, fishing, tennis and golf. There is a whole range of restaurants, from traditional - serving grilled fresh fish or souvlaki - to European and exotic. Night life is also vibrant, with local singing and dancing performed in many of the tavernas, or you could opt for the less traditional clubs and discos that are on offer. In Kos, there really is something for everyone!
