Faliraki Hotels – Created by hippies!

Faliraki was created in the late 1960s, discovered by a band of wandering hippies who set up a couple of small beach bars full of fisherman and locals. Once famous for mouthwatering grapes figs, tomatoes and fresh fish, it is now a prime holiday destination. Thanks to the fantastic sandy beaches, there are now hundreds of new hotels in Faliraki. The 3 star Matina Hotel has 82 cool spotless rooms arranged over three floors – with a lift! This is a great family hotel with plenty of two and three bed rooms on offer. And most have their own balcony or terrace with pool views. As hotels in Faliriki go, the Matina’s a good value, friendly place.

Here are just some of the hotels and resorts we sell in Faliraki

Faliraki Holidays -  Great for Nightlife

Faliraki holidays offer the pumping nightlife and a beach to die for. It’s on Rhodes, thus is the name of a town not the whole island. Faliraki has four miles of beach that’s always pretty busy. You don’t have to go too much further a field to find a less populated beach though, but if it’s complete privacy, peace and quiet you want, then Faliraki is probably not going to be your first choice of holiday resort!Faliraki has a reputation to keep up as the nightlife capital of the islands and is showing no signs of letting its clubbing crown slip. Some of the clubs are regularly filled with up to 2000 young gad-abouts strutting their so-called ‘stuff’. Shocking.

Cheap Faliraki Holidays -  A Drinkers Paradise

Most bars offer offer 2 for 1 drinks and free shots to get you inside.  If you keep moving from bar to bar, this can be really handy!  The Faliraki cocktails are legendary for finishing off even the hardiest of visiting, errr… drinkers. But any cocktail served in a glass the size of a goldfish bowl would tend to do that. It’s called ‘the goldfish bowl’ should you want to try one. Leave the name of your next of kin at the bar before you do. No goldfish were harmed in the making of this cocktail.

Cheap Faliraki Holidays -  More Than Just Nightclubs

The beach is great for recovering from hangovers.  There's an excellent water park here too.  There’s another acropolis on the island and Rhodes old town is a lovely place to spend your remaining days on holiday recuperating, after drinking a goldfish bowl.  Faliraki holidays are not for the feignt hearted! If you want a nightlife that'll last long into the next day on your Greece holidays then Faliraki is place to come.

Flights to Faliriki – Classic family beach holidays

Faliraki is only about ten miles from Rhodes International Airport, which is handy. So flights to Faliraki let you spend more time on holiday and less time faffing about with transfers. Good deal.  If Athens is all a bit much flights to Faliraki provide a great alternative, located at Paradissi and convenient for the whole island. You’re even within spitting distance of Turkey, should you wish to spit at it for some reason known only to yourself. It takes all sorts. Flights to Faliraki are at their busiest between April and October. Once you land on solid ground it is easy and cheap to get yourself where you want to be, via one of several million cabs and efficient local buses.

Faliriki Flights – Visit Anthony Quinn bay!

Flights to Faliraki offer much more than just the resort itself. Rhodes is lovely. You can hire a boat and explore the stunning coastline, stopping off at deserted bays for picnics, parties, games and sunbathing. Kathara Bay is particularly gorgeous although you might have a bit of a shock if you wander too far down towards the end of the beach. Flights to Faliraki attract their fair share of naturists and there’s a nudist beach at the far end of Kathara Bay. There’s even a bay named after Anthony Quinn, who filmed bits of The Guns of Navarone there. Great film.

The Water Park - Faliraki Attractions – Greece

Here you go – we love a Water Park at Beat the brochure and this is a pretty good one. There are loads of rides, or slides, well you would expect there to be loads of water slides at Europe’s biggest Water Park wouldn’t you? Take your sun cream and reapply it a lot throughout the day or you’ll come home looking like a beetroot.

Lindos Acropolis - Attractions in Faliraki – Greece

Acropolis means ‘high city’ or ‘city above’, so Athens doesn’t have the only one. There’s a city above Lindos, Lindos Acropolis (Lindos is close to Faliraki) that began life well over 2000 years ago. Lindos itself is a good place to retreat from Faliraki to. It has clubs and bars of its own that are a little more civilised than those found on Bar Street in Faliraki. Back up on the Acropolis, it certainly is high so be prepared to work up a sweat weaving through the streets of the typically Greek town of Lindos (lots of little white houses) until you have to start climbing the steps up to the ruins of the Acropolis.
It’s a four and a half hour flight from the UK roughly. No no no, it’s not the flying that’s done roughly, the timing is the rough part. It depends where you’re flying from. You’ll transfer to Faliraki in about 45 minutes. There are plenty of direct to Rhodes flights.

Now listen, we told you about Kos airport didn’t we? Rhodes airport is just fine, but typically Greek. So don’t expect lots of helpful signs pointing you to the correct baggage carrousel or a smooth and rapid check in process. There are plenty of facilities and there’s nothing to worry about, just remember you’re arriving or departing from a small Greek island not JFK airport in New York, and you’ll be laughing.
