Gulf Coast Holidays -  Great Attractions

Gulf Coast holidays offer an incredible landscape for a relaxing break. The Everglades National Park, the Big Cypress Swamp, and numerous other wetland reserves, wildlife refuges and habitats are all close by Florida’s Gulf Coast. Then there are the miles of beautiful beaches, washed by the warm Gulf waters and covered in a fascinating array of seashells. Busch Gardens is closer than Walt Disney World, but even the latter attraction is only 75 to 90 minutes journey, which is about as long as it takes to get from Catford, through the Blackwall Tunnel, and to the bottom bit of the M11 of a morning. While you might not want to commute to Disney every day from here, you could stay in a Disney Hotel for a few days and keep your base on the Gulf Coast, or you could plan a two-centre holiday of course. Cheap Gulf Coast hotels are available so splitting up your holiday is always an option.

Cheap Gulf Coast Holidays -  Many Beautiful Beaches

Either way, having the Gulf Coast of Florida to look forward to after a hard day or more exploring the theme parks of Orlando might just help make it all seem a little more worthwhile, especially if one of your party is reluctant to embark on an Orlando holiday. Such people do exist, we’ve read about them in the newspapers, so it must be true. The Gulf Coast is a great place to relax, and get plenty of peace and quiet when you want to.

Gulf Coast Holidays-  Great for Shopping

Gulf Coast holidays offer a location that is pure paridise. If you have a reluctant Orlando tourist in your family, just tell them about the Gulf Coast's white sand beaches, Clearwater Beach Marina, the Florida Aquarium at Tampa, and tell them they will still be close enought o Orlando.  If that doesn't work, mention all the great shopping.  The International Plaza Mall is filled with designer outlets (should any of you lose your clothes).  Gulf Coast resorts have many great malls and boutiques to choose from, so it's easy to find a bargain! Cheap Florida holidays are plentiful so with the shopping and the accomodation a Florida holiday can be great value for money.

Flights to Florida Gulf Coast -  Lovely Beaches

Flights to Florida take around 10 hours from most UK airports.  Many recommended airlines fly there including British Airways, American Airlines and Virgin Atlantic.  The most popular airport in Florida is Orlando International, but Miami International and Tampa International are very popular too.  Many options will be available for transfers to you resort.

Gulf Coast Florida Flights -  Airport Transfers

Most major Gulf Coast resorts have their own airports, so its possible to get connecting flights.  However, many people fly to Tampa and make a 40 minute transfer from there.   We can arrange cheap return coach transfers, or you can pay for a private taxi when you get there.  We can also arrange low cost car hire.

St Pete Beach and Treasure Island – Florida – Gulf Coast Attractions

Perfect white sand beaches, clear Gulf waters, warm sunshine, and hospitality abound and all just an hour and a half from Walt Disney World! Locally there’s plenty of wining and dining to do, and then there’s Capxain Memo’s Pirate Cruise, Clearwater Marine Aquarium, and much more in this little slice of paradise.

Clearwater Beach – Florida –  Attractions Gulf Coast

There are certainly some lovely beaches here and there’s no shortage of clear water either. There’s bird watching, shell collecting and plenty of stupendous sunsets to sit and enjoy (usually just before the evening).

Sarasota – Florida – Gulf Coast Attractions

Breathtaking sunsets, museums, opera, ballet, plays, and boat races. You can play tennis, go water skiing, shell collecting, bird watching, play golf, or go boating. There are dolphin encounters, dinner cruises, the Florida Aquarium at Tampa, golf courses, and the International Plaza Mall.

Sanibel, Capxiva and Fort Myers – Florida – Attractions Gulf Coast

A tropical island getaway on southwest Florida's Gulf Coast, complete with an atmosphere that's less hurried than the surrounding world, certainly less frenetic than Orlando! Exotic tropical wildlife, white sand beaches, and uninhabited island after uninhabited island to explore. Hmmm… perhaps there’s a reason they’re uninhabited. We’re going to check before exploring anymore of them, just in case.

There are museums and galleries to explore, that’s when you’ve had enough of doing absolutely nothing of course, or you can go off on your own great adventure, kayaking round the little islands. No queuing, no piped music, no themes! Just you, a tiny kayak, and hopefully no alligators.

Naples and Marco Island – Florida – Gulf Coast Attractions

The natural wonder and wildlife of the Everglades is brought together with the glorious white sand beaches of Naples and Marco Island here, at the south western tip of Florida's Gulf Coast. Naples, Marco Island and the western portion of the Everglades make up Southwest Florida's ‘Collier County’ and is sometimes known as The Paradise Coast. More than 80 per cent of this, the largest county in the state of Florida, is preserved as park and nature preserve land by federal, state, county, city and private agencies, so don’t build anything on it please. No, not even a conservatory.

Sarasota and Fort Myers are optional airports, but we recommend Tampa, with direct flights that take about nine and a half hours. Some choose to fly drive from other main Florida airports.

If unsure, call our specialists for some obligation free advice.
