Hotels in Sharm El Sheik – New, clean, right on the beach

Isn’t Sharm El Sheik a brilliant name? Doesn’t it conjure up wonderful things… exotic nights, fragrant blooms, distant pyramids. You’d be quite right – this is a delightful place. But like in most Egyptian resorts, hotels in Sharm El Sheik are brand new, shiny and full of lovely bling. The Three Corners Palmyra Resort is on the bay at Nabq, a couple of miles from the airport and a quick drive from the city’s quaint old centre. Keen divers delight in the resort’s fantastic coral beaches and sea life and the Three Corners Palmyra is also family friendly.

Sharm El Sheik Hotels – Mount Sinai in the distance

Sharm el Sheikh sits on the tip of the Sinai Peninsula, a gorgeous area in the lee of dramatic Mount Sinai and bounded by the Red Sea. You can’t move for good accommodation and Sharm El Sheik hotels, restaurants, golf and water sports are unparalleled. Many hotels in Sharm El Sheik offer all inclusive packages - a generous deal if you’re into your food and booze! The Sunset Partner Hotel is in peaceful Ras Om El Seid, a posh bit, where the desert meets the sea. Cool place… this Sharm El Sheik hotel offers 85 rooms with balconies and lovely views of the garden and pool. And – like the rest – it has excellent air conditioning.

Hotels in Sharm El Sheik

Sharm El Sheik is known locally as the jewel of the Sinai, and it has a violent and chequered history. So as well as sun, sea and sand you’ll find cultural tours to keep your brain well fed. The Al Diwan Hotel, in the lovely Sharks Bay area, is a ten minute car journey from Neema Bay, another stunner, and it’s also convenient for the old town. Built in Moorish style, the Al Diwan sits in pretty landscaped gardens and you’ll always get a warm welcome. Hotels in Sharm El Sheik might be smart and cosmopolitan, but they’re also really friendly.

Cheap Holidays in Sharm El Sheikh -  Great for Relaxing and Sightseeing

Cheap holidays in Sharm El Sheikh offer everything a holiday-maker could wish for. At the southern end of the Sinai peninsula, overlooking the Gulf of Aqaba sits Sharm El Sheikh. Like most of the country, this part of Egypt is steeped in history. There’s St. Catherine's Monastery, which although small is very old and has lots of bits of bones to look at, including part of St Catherine's finger. Of course there is Mount Sinai too. It was on Mount Sinai that Moses came down with the Ten Commandments, which makes them sound a little bit like an unfortunate disease. We all know there were supposed to be 15 anyway, but he could only carry the two tablets, so buried one assuming no one would be any the wiser. Hence the world was spared 'thout shalt not pass comment on a neighbour's unpleasant looking children', 'thou shalt not take video tapes back to the blockbuster without first rewinding them', and so on.

Cheap Sharm El Sheikh Holidays -  Perfect for Diving

The pyramids are within reach of Sharm, although it’s a long and uncomfortable journey at five hours by bus. A much more pleasant day trip could be had by expanding your holidays to Cairo. Cheap flights to Cairo will take about an hour. However, Sharm El Sheikh is the place to be for relaxing in the sun and enjoying some of the best diving you are likely to experience anywhere in the world. There are loads of diving sites along the 10 miles of beach, some busier than others so if you want to see something more interesting on the other side of your face mask than Wigan Rugby Club's annual outing to the Red Sea, do a bit of forward planning and track down the diving sites that aren't going to be as overpopulated and make sure you get the best from Allah's Aquarium.

Sharm El Sheikh is divided into three regions: Na'ama Bay, where you will find many shops, restaurants, bars and cafes; Ras Um Sid Cliff, the cliff top area that links Na'ama Bay and the bay of Sharm El Maya. The third area, Sharm El Maya, is the bay area old town of Sharm El Sheikh. The beautiful sandy beach has only recently been developed with five star hotels, the old town only a short walk away.

Sharm El sheikh is one of the cheapest places in the world to pick up a PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) qualification and there are plenty of diving courses at all levels are available. Sharm El Sheikh is a great place to enjoy sun, sea, sand, and the nearby protected areas of: Ras Mohammed Natural Protected Park, St Katherine National Park, and Nabq Protected Area.

There are plenty of local restaurants and lots that you’ll recognise from your UK high street too, but do dive in and eat the local food. The Egyptian people are tremendously hospitable and friendly and will appreciate your efforts to sample their culture and cuisine. So book your cheap holidays to Sharm El Sheikh and emmerse yourself in the local culture.

Don’t worry about not diving – it’s not compulsory! Even the weakest of swimmers can take a short stroll into the sea and find themselves looking down on a coral reef in complete safety.

All Inclusive Sharm El Sheikh Holidays -  Excellent Hotels

If you do want to get the bus to the pyramids, make a two day trip and spend the money you saved by not flying on one of the more posh hotels with a view of the pyramids for a night you’ll never forget.

Ladies don’t forget that this is a Muslim country so dress accordingly in town. You will attract attention from locals either way, but don’t worry as Beat the Brochure’s visitors to Egypt don’t describe this as intimidating at all. Security is very high in Egypt and you don’t see the locals reeling about drunk, that’s our job. So book your cheap holidays to Egypt and relax by the beach then go and explore some of the most amazing sights in the world.

Flights to Sharm El Sheikh – Sea, desert and mountains… wow

Sharm el Sheikh is world famous for diving. We know someone who had never dived in his life until he went there on holiday. Now he’s moving to Egypt to teach diving. So watch yourself, flights to Sharm El Sheikh might result in an unexpected career change.  If you can imagine yourself as a diving instructor or windsurfing dude /dude-ess you’d better not go. Just in case the temptation proves too much. But flights to Sharm El Sheikh give you more than just sea and breach stuff. The place also has dramatic, bleak desert mountains on offer for land-based safaris and adventures. Cool place.

Sharm El Sheikh Flights – Book in to the lovely Na’ama Bay resort

Flights to Sharm El Sheikh go direct to Sharm El Sheikh Airport, just north east of the city near Ras Nasrani. They opened terminal 2 in 2007 to turn what was already a thriving airport into an international monster handling a massive eight million people a year. Most holidaymakers book flights to Sharm El Sheikh to get to the main tourist area at Na'ama Bay. If you choose a package holiday then transfers will probably be included. If not take a cab, but arrange and agree a price before you set off.

Flights to Sharm El Sheikh – Head out into the desert

Take flights to Sharm El Sheik and dare to do something a bit different. You can hire cars at the airport from a handful of trustworthy household name operators and explore the desert. Do your homework first though - there isn’t an information desk at the airport. But never mind… you’ve got all the usual stuff you’d expect from a big airport; money changing and cashpoint machines, places to eat and drink, jewellery and souvenir shops and duty free shopping. Most people choose flights to Sharm El Sheikh for the beaches and sea, and most hotels have a private beach. If you’ve got an adventurous spirit go and find yourself a sandy private beach haven in Ras Muhammad National Park, a stunning place well worth a short trek.

Na'ama Bay – Sharm el Sheikh Attractions – Egypt

Great snorkelling and diving in the day added to the nightlife of Na’am Bay results in a great holiday destination. What more could you want on holiday? More history and culture? Get yourself on a one day or two day trip to Cairo then!

Ras Mohommed Reef – Attractions in Sharm el Sheikh – Egypt

This is an offshore national park. The strong currents attract larger fish and there are some great vertical reef walls to explore, so you’ll need more than just a snorkel and goggles to make the most of this marvellous underwater forest of marine life.

Sinai Mountain – Sharm el Sheikh Attractions – Egypt

Mt Sinai isn't the highest mountain in the area, or even the most interesting. However, this is where God spoke to Moses, apparently, and for thousands of years it's thus been a site of pilgrimage. There are ancient chapels and structures honouring saints and the Virgin Mary along the main route, called Sikket Saydna Musa ('The Path of Moses'), and there's the natural amphitheater where 70 wise men waited while God spoke with Moses, and a small chapel and mosque at the top. Like it does to many aspects of Egypt, mystery surrounds the Mt Sinai, but don’t forget that it's still a big flippin' mountain and you need to be in good shape to make it to the top in the desert heat. Its summit is 7,498 feet up the Path of Moses, which has 4,000 steps! So it's hiking shoes please, and lots of water.

Many parts of Sharm El Sheikh are just 10 minutes from Sharm El Sheikh International Airport, which is a 50 minute flight from Cairo. There are plenty of direct flights from the UK now though, and you’ll be airborne for about five hours.
