The hotel is situated alongside Hurghada Beach in the Red Sea, 12 kilometres from the airport, 18 kilometres from the city centre and 270 kilometres from Luxor. Excursions are organised to all of the country's main attractions.

Using the A la Carte restaurants for dinner requires a previous reservation at the reception, daily from 10:00-14:00. In order to assure the best service, guests should wear their AI armband all times. The AI concept will be implemented by room not by guest. All food & beverage orders must be consumed within the restaurants / bar. Any order carried outside the outlet as well as invitations will be charged to the guestroom. Armband should be returned to front office prior checkout at 12:00, to avoid extra charge.

The AI programme consists of breakfast (07:00-10:30), lunch (12:30-14:30), dinner (18:30-22:00) and late dinner (22:00-24:00), all buffet style, served in the Karnak main restaurant. Late light breakfast takes place from 10:30-12:00 at the lobby bar. Also at the disposal of the AI guests for A la Carte dinning is the pool restaurant (12:30-16:00), the beach restaurant (12:30-16:00), the Alexandria restaurant (Mediterranean & International cuisine for dinner, prior reservation) and the Paella restaurant (International sea food for dinner, prior reservation). Customers are entitled to enjoy dinner at the special parties every Tuesday (extra ordinary sea food) and every Sunday (BBQ). A la Carte snacks are available between 12:30 & 24:00 at the lobby bar as well as afternoon sweet & tea corner from 17:00-18:30 and hot snacks from 23:00-24:00. Tea & coffee time with snacks & mini sandwiches is from 16:00-17:00 by the pool and the beach restaurant. Guests can have ice cream at the pool & beach restaurants, during their operation hours. For kids aged 5 to 12yrs old there will be ice cream, mini sandwiches, snacks and cookies at the kids club from 10:00-13:00 & 15:00-17:00. Locally produced alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks by the glass like spirits, cocktails, mineral water and various choices of tea & coffee are served from 10:00 till midnight at selected outlets. There will be one bottle of mineral water in room upon arrival (only) and a tea & coffee tray, daily re-filled.

Two swimming pools, a children's pool, an indoor pool for your swimming pleasure. The Sonesta Pharaoh Beach caters your sporting needs with a gym, sauna and steam bath, massage service, two tennis courts, two paddle courts, a hockey pitch and an all-weather sports court. By the beach the scuba diving centre personnel are ready to assist you with, among other activities, snorkelling. Note that the hotel has a house reef. Additionally there is an extensive entertainment programme.

Bottled beverages, room service, fresh juices, imported beverages & spirits, all food & beverage orders after midnight till 07:00, shisha, sauna, steam bath and massage are available at a charge. There is a 50% discount on the mini bar usage.

Entry Requirements
On entry into Egypt, you must obtain a visitors visa at the port of entry, the fee is GBP 10 (subject to change). Sharm El Sheikh is considered a free zone, due to being located in the Sinai Peninsula. Travel on excursions outside the peninsula, the visitor's visa is a requirement. We recommend that you see your Medhotels rep on arrival, and they will assist you with obtaining the visa.

The hotel offers breakfast and dinner buffets. The à la carte restaurant 'Alexandria' accommodates up to 84 people. The sea food restaurant on the beach accommodates up to 120 people, The hotel also has a lobby bar, oriental café 'Farfasha' (an Arab style café), snack bar by the pool and a beach snack bar. There is also a discotheque 'Fun Pub' which offers another venue for entertainment.

The Sonesta Pharaoh Beach has 260 rooms (twins, chalets and singles) and 100 bungalows (small chalets), all with a fully equipped bathroom, air-conditioning, satellite TV, direct dial telephone, mini-bar and safe deposit box. 24-hours room service is also provided. Baby cots are available on request and will count as 1 person in the room and not in addition to the maximum occupancy.
