Holidays in Las Caletillas - A Great Place to Relax
Las Caletillas is on the north east coast is close to Santa de la Cruz, Tenerife’s capital. It’s certainly the place to come for a little more peace as those high rise hotels haven’t reached here just yet. Las Caletillas and its pebbled beach is close to Candelaria, a lovely little village with a volcanic beach. There’s the village of Masca or La Laguna, and its cathedral. The forest of La Esperanza isn’t far and there’s a handy ostrich farm that provides meat (yes, ostrich meat) to some local restaurants. Ostrich meat is tender and red, more like cow than chicken. We couldn’t eat a whole one. Can vegetarians eat ostriches? The ones that eat fish probably can, or do anyway, in secret.

The resort is very close to the airport, which is very convenient for when you arrive. Its also close to Santa Cruz which is the island's capital city. This means that after relaxing in the daytime, you have the option of travelling to the city for great evening entertainment. There are plenty of good bars and restaurants in the local resort too. Las Caletillas Holidays are very suitable for couples and those with young families.

For a small fee, you can enjoy great boat and sailing trips along the coastline. Sea fishing is very popular here too, and tourists have been known to catch huge fish such as Blue Marlin and Hammerhead Sharks. If you're after more relaxing day trips, how about a dolphin or whale watching tour? Teide National Park is well worth a visit too.
