Holidays in Alcudia - Great Historical Attractions
Alcúdia
is a walled town with Roman ruins and all the history that such things entail. There’s a fun Sunday market, and plenty of traditional shops lining the narrow streets. The popular port area is lovely to explore too. There are loads of historical monuments here, as it’s the oldest city on the island and a few different civilisations have made it their home over the centuries. The old town’s walls date from the 14th century. There’s a bullring to visit – and it’s not a shopping mecca like the one in Birmingham – this one is over 100 years old and bullfighting still goes on and is still extremely popular here, although there are only two main events each year.
All Inclusive Alcudia Holidays - Great For Families
Bullfighting is a controversial sport. Many consider it a barbaric out-dated tradition. The good news is that if you don’t agree with bullfighting there is plenty to tempt you to Alcudia. Alcudia has plenty of lovely, wide golden beaches. These are extremely popular, feel less crowded than in certain other resorts. Many consider this to be the best beach in the whole of Majorca, and it offers many different watersports to choose from. This is a very laid back resort, and it has a friendly atmosphere. Many budget airlines fly to Majorca, including Easyjet and Ryanair. Cheap flights are available throughout the year, but we recommend booking early to get the best prices. Flights take around 2 hours from most UK airports.
Flights to Alcudia - Airport Transfers
Alcudia is 38 miles away from Palma Airport. This means just under an hour's drive to your hotel. We can arrange cheap return coach transfers, or you can pay for a private taxi when you get there. We can also arrange low cost car hire.
It could take as long as 90 minutes to get here from Palma airport, or just under an hour if you miss traffic and get a cab. Either way, you’ll be greeted by the longest beach on the island when you arrive so the journey is always worth it.
