Hotels in Ibiza – From peaceful to… not!

Think
Ibiza, think clubbing. If you’re under thirty and heading Balearic-wards you’ll probably want to be as close to the epicentre as possible. The hotels in Ibiza? You name it, you’ll find it. For top quality outdoor grooves try the Jet Complex’s basic apartments, home to the legendary Bora Bora beach bar and a short (yet potentially challenging) stagger from the gates of Space. Or the nearby Clubbers Hotel, your classic clubbers’ crash pad. The clientele here are young, resilient and hell bent on all night parting. So if you’ve got kids or like to sleep once in a while, these Ibiza hotels are a no-no. It’s also worth knowing that this bit of Playa d'en Bossa is right on the flight path to the airport. Have endless fun watching rows of grinning inbound clubbers waving from their aeroplane windows, three feet above your head.

Ibiza Hotels – head to Ibiza Town, the quieter side

Ibiza Town: expensive, exclusive, gay friendly and - as dusk falls - full of weird, wonderful and beautiful people. The coastline either side of Ibiza Town is lined with hotels, and Ibiza hoteks come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Try the four star Hotel Simbad, right on the beach at Talamanca Bay just a couple of miles out of town. Completely renovated in ’07 it is smart, clean, accessible and family friendly. As is the Ebano Apartment complex, five minutes from the beach with a huge, shady garden and enormous pool.  Ibiza Town itself offers masses of choice.  One Ibiza hotel thats worth a look is the gorgeous Hotel Maritmo, a real beauty.  On the beach at Paeso Maritmo in pretty Figueratas, it is a stones throw from the arts and crafts market....  Useful for those unexpected hippy moments

Hotels in Ibiza – Full on fun 24/7 in San Antonio

San Anotonio -  The city that never sleeps.  Really.  The place is thronged 24/7 with happy youth in various states of dress and undress, jamming themselves into San An’s hundreds of bars. If you want to be central but a bit quieter, there are plenty of hotels in Ibiza that fit the bill.  The family managed hotel Gran Sol is a firm favourite. Modestly priced and tucked away in one of the quieter areas of the resort, but still close enough to the beach and town centre for rock ‘n’ roll. Wherever you choose to stay, this is an extremely popular island and hotels in Ibiza fill up incredibly fast. Book early or you’ll be sleeping on the beach.

Cheap Ibiza Holidays -  A Clubbers Paradise

Ibiza holidays and clubbing go together like Southend and Subaru. Privilege is the biggest nightclub in the world, and that’s official. It has a capacity of a ludicrous 10,000. Space, with its capacity of less than half that of Privilege is relatively intimate in comparison, but is often voted the top club in the world. Yes, that’s the top club ladies and gentlemen. It’s got a long history going back at least 17 years and don’t forget club years are like cat years, so that makes it about 85, we think. Pacha started here and spawned 70 other versions of Pacha all over the world. Amnesia was the first open air club in Ibiza, and there’re one or two more great clubs, to say the least, to spend a few hours and more than a few € in on your Ibiza holiday. San Antonio holidays offer the pick of the bunch for your clubbing needs.

Cheap Holidays to Ibiza -  Great for Families Too

Should you go on holiday to Ibiza with your mum, point her at the Church of Saint Agnes (Iglesia de Santa Ines) which dates from the 17th century, while you sleep off the after effects of ingesting all the foam they sprayed over you in Amnesia last night, you could probably do some sleeping in the church without creating to much of a stir. Or for a compromise, you could forgo the clubbing and take her to some of Ibiza’s many caves, such as Caves Can Marca, which with the exotic lighting and colourful watery shadows playing about you, more than resemble the inside of some of the clubs, but without the foam, and bar bills. If all you can manage is the beach, Playa d'en Bossa is one of the biggest on the island and you’ll be safe should you decide you can manage a paddle, as the water stays shallow near the beach, which for us scardey cats is a handy feature of the Balearics. Cheap Playa d'en Bossa hotels are available throughout the year.

Cheap Ibiza Holidays -  Some of Europe's Best Best Beaches

Relax on your holiday as Ibiza has barrel loads of blue flags for its beaches. Blue Flags began life in France in 1985 and is now operating in over 35 countries, even in parts of the USA. The criteria include everything from information that needs to be displayed, to water quality, environmental management, safety and services. Ibiza Holidays offer something for everyone.

Flights to Ibiza – Earth’s final refuge!

There’s no doubt that Nostradamus was a nutter and most of his predictions, so far, have proved to be complete rubbish. A relief really; you’d hardly call the man an optimist. Flights to Ibiza, according to him, deposit you safely on the earth’s last refuge. If things go pear shaped, in a  nuclear sense, the prevailing winds over the island will allegedly make it the only habitable place on the planet. In the meantime life trundles on as normal. Ibiza Airport is where your flights to Ibiza will land, one of the island’s biggest employers with around 2300 people working at the airport itself and multitudes more doing useful related stuff around the fringes. Not a surprise, since Ibiza airport handles more than five and a half million clubbers a year split between almost 58,000 flights. Phew!

Ibiza Flights – Hippy heaven in the ‘60s

If you think Ibiza came to life with the dance music scene, you’d be a couple of decades or so out. Hippies actually discovered the island in the early ‘60s and set up a handful of colonies here doing whatever hippies do… weaving baskets, getting stoned and what not. Hippies and holidaymakers alike can take flights to Ibiza from a whole load of UK airports including Belfast, Birmingham, Dublin, Exeter, Gatwick, Doncaster Sheffield, Liverpool, Newcastle and Stansted. So if flights to Ibiza are what you’re after you should have no problem tracking one down that departs from somewhere close to home.

Flights to Ibiza – The magic island

Ibiza airport is, like many, aiming for world domination with more improvements underway to add to what they’ve already done. In 2002 flights to Ibiza airport were improved significantly with extended check-in, departures and arrivals facilities. Way back before airports were even dreamed of the locals, the Phoenicians, thought that Ibiza was a magic place. Something about the climate and geology means that there aren’t any stinging, biting or large-toothed creatures there so it’s always been pretty safe for humans. So your flights to Ibiza won’t result in animal or insect attacks… good news. But watch out for wild and uncontrolled herds of loved-up clubbers.

Es Vedrá Rock – Ibiza Attractions

This is a sort-of Mediterranean version of Ayres rock, which is the big lump sticking up in the middle of Australia somewhere of course. The Ibiza equivalent is almost as big too. Ayres rock (or Uluru, as the locals call it – the locals in Australia that is, not Ibiza) is about 1,114 feet high, where as the Es Vedra rock reaches some 1,300 feet, which technically speaking is higher.

A ‘hermit’ used to live on Es Vedra. He was apparently a priest. At Beat the Brochure we are trying to find out at which point you change from being a priest, train driver, call centre shift supervisor and so on, into a ‘hermit’. We imagine there’s a complex hermit algorithm somewhere, for instance: beard length x days since last wash x time spent on rock/in cave/in forest/under that canal bridge that’s two minutes walk from ‘Bargain Booze’ = your hermitology weighting. Anyway, it’s a nice rock.

Cova d'es Culleram – Attractions in Ibiza

Cova d'es Culleram was a temple to the goddess Tanoit over 1000 years ago. Various bits were discovered that are now in the museum (Museo Arqueológic in Ibiza town). If you do make it to a few historical sites, you’ll be reading about the Carthaginians. The Carthaginians started Ibiza town, after discovering the island about 2600 years ago. Carthage was a North African City that spread out across the Mediterranean. The Carthaginians were great rivals of the Romans and had more than a few battles with them, eventually losing completely after the third Punic War – so called because the Roman’s name for Carthage was Punici. There, you’re now fully informed. Collect your Mediterranean History GCSE at the front desk please

Paseo Vara de Rey – Ibiza Attractions

General Vara de Rey, who fought against the Carlists was born here in 1840. We don’t know what Carlists are, but are pretty sure they’re persecutors of anyone called Carl, so we are right behind the general on that one. We’ll not have anyone persecuted here at beat the Brochure, even if they are called Carl. You can discuss this at length in any of the many bars and restaurants around the Paseo Vara de Rey. Paseo means Passage, and the General’s passage is indeed a popular place.
There's plenty of charter, budget and scheduled flight travelling to Ibiza, and some great bargains to be had at all times of the year.
