The Maspalomas resort offers smarter, luxury hotels for a Gran Canaria holiday. An additional attraction is the excellent golf course. A huge stretch of sand dunes separates Maspalomas from Playa de Ingles, full of lizards and other wildlife the dunes are protected so only walking on them on foot or by camel is allowed. You can go on camel safaris through the dunes, which is not something you’ll get the opportunity to do in the UK. There's a magnificent beach here too. Meloneras is the quieter part of the resort, while eastern Maspalomas merges into the lively Playa Del Ingles.

There are many attractions to choose from in Maspalomas. These include three excellent golf courses, which have hosted major international events. Aqualand is great fun for the family, and its the largest water park in the Canary Islands. Camel Treks are popular here, and Holiday World is an excellent amusement park thats full of attractions. The beach is a great attraction in itself, as its more than 2km of lovely golden sands. There any many watersports at the beach, and its close to many bars and nightclubs too.

Centro Comerial Faro 2 is the main place for shopping! The shops offer a mixture of big name designers, traditional Spanish stores, and local market traders. Its a great place to find authentic handicrafts, and many other weird and wonderful things. A Maspalomas holiday offers a unique Canary Islands holiday.
Maspalomas Flights - Budget Airlines
Maspalomas is served by several budget airlines such as Easyjet and Ryanair. Cheap flights can be found at most times of the year, but we recommend booking early to get the best prices. Flights take just over 4 hours from most UK airports.
Flights to Maspalomas - Airport Transfers
Maspalomas is just under 30 minutes from Las Palmas Airport. We can arrange cheap return coach transfers to your hotel, or you can take your own private taxi when you get there. We can also arrange low cost car hire.
The Sand Dunes – Maspalomas Attractions – Gran Canaria
They stretch for miles and the sand is from the Sahara Desert. Don’t forget to take a camel trek. However, we now note that you actually can go camel trekking in the UK, in Somerset. Apparently. Well that’s just ridiculous. Who’d want to do that? It’d probably be raining and you’d frankly look ridiculous riding a camel up Shepton Mallett high street, tying it up outside Greggs the bakers so you can nip in to pick up a cheese and onion pasty.
The sand dunes of Maspalomas - that’s where you want to be when you’re on a camel. Mind you, you can’t get a cheese and onion pasty anywhere in the sand dunes. Mental note: Ginsters.
Palmitos Park – Attractions in Maspalomas – Gran Canaria
This big ornithological park, aquarium, and butterfly house is about half an hour from Maspalomas. There are loads of parrots here – over 1000. Some parrots are flying round at liberty and some take part in a ‘show’ and some of the parrots are kept caged. For your protection we imagine. It’s one of the biggest collections of parrots in the world so dont miss this one on your maspalomas holiday.
WOMAD – Maspalomas Attractions - Gran Canaria
World of Music and Dance – there’s an annual WOMAD festival in the Parque de Santa Catalina, which is in Santa Catalina of course. It’s a great free festival with top artistes from all over the world and shouldn’t be missed should you have the good fortune to be in Gran Canaria around November.
It’s a 4 hour and 15 minute flight from the UK, depending on where you’re flying from of course. Transfers to Masapalomas take about 45 minutes.
